Most people are not aware that the K-27 class was first built as Vauclain compounds. Basically, this put two cylinders on each side of the engine! This revolutionary technology at the time allowed for longer trains to be pulled by stronger locomotives.
This model is modeled as it appeared from 1903-1909.
