Engine number 3748 was an "F5"... Her trailing truck is equipped with a power booster, which gave her an additional 10,000 pounds of tractive effort when starting out. Her tender is a Class 14 252-R-1 which she acquired in 1949 and which was the SP's heaviest tender, possessing the greatest water capacity of all. Talk about unique! 

Engine number 3748 was anything but 'common' appearing. Not just because she's a member of the 'F-5' class, with a huge Commonwealth Trailing Truck riding beneath an equally huge Commonwealth Frame Cradle and a Franklin Power Booster engine.
