Built in 1927, number 5344 is particularly famous for a few reasons; In 1937 it was chosen by Lionel as the prototype for their first scale model offering ever. True rivet for rivet detailing - something not seen in models up to that point. #5344 would go on to be streamlined first as the 'Commodore Vanderbilt' and later in Dreyfuss style streamlining.
