With the Brass Expo and Custom Craftsman Models show now behind us, I wanted to take a moment and thank all of the people who came up to our booth and said hi. It was a pleasure to put many of your faces to the many names I had talked to over the phone, through email, or on Facebook.
It's important to remember that our hobby is a niche within another hobby and that while these events may not have thousands of people lining up to get in, they are still important to hold as engagement among us promotes growth. There were quite a few younger faces that I saw going home with a new brass piece. That's always great for me to see as while I may be one of the youngest at the moment, there will be a day when someone far younger than me comes along and knows far more.
To all the dealers and custom painters that I discussed techniques or the intricacies of a particular brass piece with, I hope to continue our talks and hopefully can get together again in the future. It's fun to continue to learn about a hobby I love.
